The United States has discovered nearly $1,ooobn in untapped mineral deposits in Afghanistan, according to the New York Times. The figure is far beyond any previously known reserves in the area and enough to completely turnaround the Afghan economy and perhaps the Afghan war itself, according to senior American government officials cited by the NYT. However, experts believe it will take decades for Afghanistan to exploit its mineral wealth fully.

Very risky drilling in Afghanistan.

Staff kidnapping to suicide bombers. Wouldnt touch that part of the world.

Sounds like the perfect play for Range Resources (or have they changed their spots since Puntland?)

Wasn't Bin Laden's family in the construction business in Saudia Arabia. They may be interested in the drilling and destruction business in Afghanistan.Family connection with explosives will be a bonus. Not sure if and where they are listed? Maybe the CIA's hit list.

lol lizard,
Range RRS are still trying to drill Puntland, it was one big sham....
they have since moved into Texas as a cover up... and I believe they have something in Georgia...

as for Aussie juniors, I really dont think its a good time to buy resource stocks...
Data out from China just days ago suggest that tightening measures are coming which will slow growth and demand for Aussie exports...
