I use ANZ's ETRADE in Australia and it is very easy and informative, what is the best one to use in NZ? Also are there any other online share trading forums to use? I am struggling to find what I am looking for on this forum, seems like it is not so user friendly any tips...? I use Hotcopper for the ASX.
Thanks

I use (and like) direct broking. It's cheap and easy and quick. www.directbroking.com

What are you looking for?

This forum has the biggest coverage on the NZX - sadly that's not much any more because all 10 of us who still invest in the NZX got bored with talking to ourselves (:p) ... if you have a particular interest, post a query or comment and someone will probably respond.

Used ASB for past 4 years, been good for me. Call center has been very helpful when ever I have called.

Ha, I used them for many years, but unfortunately they were ripping me, as I deal only in OZ shares. Broking direct pay 4% interest in your OZ account and they only charge $30 charge up to 30K of shares.
At the time of my switch ASB charged about $30 for 10 K and only paid about 1% interest.

It's a bit like a power company, depending on your needs, it pays to shop around.

I've had nothing but positive dealings with ASB.

hi NVS,
It doesn't cost you anything to open an account with both. Direct broking is bit better in terms of research but sometimes slower as well. Have a browse.

Direct is fine. Never found them slow at all. Run 3 accounts with them.
