Any opinions on whether this takeover will go ahead. Have been telephoned this afternoon to ask if I have received the paperwork & how I was going to vote. Anybody else like to comment

Employing a firm of PR "consultants" to ring around shareholders is a reasonably common tactic in contested/complicated takeovers. As is, asking if one intends to take up an unpopular cash issue!

Often, but not always, it indicates that the offer is encountering heavy weather in gaining sufficient support.

Macduffy hope you are right some of the Australian share sites are giving it the raspberry especially after the release today that the asian assets had expanded at a greater rate than that published in the paperwork sent out

Easy to say, I guess, as I don't hold AXA. But if I did, I don't think I'd be voting to get rid of what most commentators say is the most most valuable growth part of the business - Asia!
