Presenter: Colin Nicholson

Topic: Selecting stocks in the current market

Colin will explain how he selects stocks to buy in the current Australian market. He begin by showing some models for what he believes is happening in the market after the GFC. He will explain his two models and how his stock selections are filtered through his margin of safety criteria. This will be illustrated with specific examples. However, buying stocks is the easy part. Colin will then explain how he sets stop-loss levels and his other two sell signals, which help to control losses if an investment fails to perform as expected. He will round off the discussion with some thoughts on how investors might deal with the market conditions that currently prevail.
