Surprised to find that this one doesn't seem to have its own thread after all these years.

Had a good trade on it years ago. Looks interesting again around here, despite the recent run up.

Anyone holding?

A good result for SKE reported today, with underlying NPAT up 86% at $52.4m and final dividend more than doubled to 8cps. At $2.49, they've crept up by around 20cps since my earlier post in March. However, with further earnings growth forecast for 2013 and yield now above 5% (plus franking), I'd expect this to head into the $2.80-$3.00 range over the next 12 months.

Hi Liz.
This one could go into the Breakouts thread as a potential breakout setup.

How long you been in?

I like the debt reduction. Pretty impressive by the ferocity of the reduction without capital raising.

Strong half-yearly.

SKE not as badly hit by the mining down turn as everyone thought.

Now that debt is pretty much been cleared, there is scope here for some large dividend growth given SKE's limited CAPEX and powerful cash generation abilities.

Bought SKE again today at $2.47. Has been knocked about a bit recently - mining down turn will have some affect, but seems to me this should be a fairly flexible business model. Recent acquisition metrics look good.

I too hold some SKE, was suprised at the run up to $3.50 and equally miffed as to why it got hammered down to the low $2.00's. Recent acquisition looks ok and on a reasonable PE. Will keep holding for long term dividends and growth.

FY result out today - could not spot any real surprises and market has given it a mild tick with move to $3.27. Outlook seems on the tough side, but positive due to further cost savings and acquisition earnings. Underpinned by 16cps annual div for now too. However, would expect it to be more a "solid" performer than a star from here, so I may reduce into rallies.

SKE remains volatile, but has moved up to $3.61 of late, boosted by offshore marine contract win of $200m, that will mostly take effect in 2014/15 and should more than offset declining income from Gorgon project as that winds up.

While my dcf valuation doesn't suggest this is cheap, the indicated $10m savings yet to be embedded in the transformation project and perhaps $6m+ pa NPAT from Broadsword acquisition gives it one of the stronger fundamental outlooks for the coming 6-9 months, so will continue to hold and look for another 15-30% gain in that period.

I've moved this to the outskirts of my "sell" list. Historically this has been very cyclical, and the minute there is positivity about the longer term, hindsight shows it was the time to sell.

Faced with a choice as to what to sell to pull the Aussie portfolio back to neutral, I decided to quit SKE today at $3.43

Hi Liz, seems a few reasonable quality stocks ( which I consider SKE to be ) have had some decent selling lately. CAJ, but it bounced nicely off the 40 support. MYX has bounced today , still holding them all but SKE is looking shaky .......

Yes, it's a bit odd - I was tossing up between PRG and SKE, but PRG seems to be on a roll and SKE on a dive...

PRG due a result soon too.

Might come together and merge ..thats what PRG want anyway

Must look at relative prices a year ago but looks a lot lower than what Liz sold out at

You still in PRG Liz

PRG taking over SKE. .55 PRG shares plus 25c cash for each SKE share.
SKE may declare a ff div and especial div in aggregate not more than 25c a share.

The offer valued at $1.79 a share based on PRG's last closing price (yest i assume) a 45% premium to SKE's closing price 22/5.

I bought some just now as the price drops.
