Make Trailers & Tippers and do related Parts & Services.

They have turned around nicely and today announced results of 6.62cps (SP 72c) and a final divvy of 2.25c (4.25c for year).

Recent acquisitions yet to add in to the results, so the future looks OK.

Been tracking MXI since their half yearly at 46 cents. Always look like a great buy.

MXI is a clear example of a stock that you hold on and add to weaknesses. The chart has one of the most best drawn uptrending chart you'll see on any stock. 25 to 80 in one year.

You hold any PT?

AGM speeches today appear to have boosted the SP up from 90c to 97.5c.

Something about doubling of first half profit, with a but the second half may not be as good as the first, maybe?

Certainly met their forecast with a gusto. Now saying more of the same in the second half is the catalyst for their share movement on Friday. Along with double the div to 4.25 cents per share putting MXI on a div yield of just over 7% FF assuming second half payment of the same amount based on the closing share price of $1.20. What is not to like about a performance like this.

Grabbed a few at $1.15 after the results were released. Owned them previously a couple of years ago, but MXI now seems a more rounded company, servicing numerous specific transport requirements, and a greater emphasis on spares.

Particularly like the Queensland Diesel Spares acquisition, which takes them beyond trailers. I wouldn't be surprised if Supply Networks (SNL) - truck and bus spare parts distribution across Australia and New Zealand, with a market cap of around $50m, doesn't come onto Maxitrans radar at some stage.

Definitely many positives about their future outlook HC. Sitting here nicely on a low PE and a very decent dividend yield. I guess it's all about 2014 and beyond for MXI. Something that we will not know as yet but I guess we have to invest accordingly to price movement and chart and on the management updates and outlook. You are back in Paper Tiger?

First down day for MXI in 7 trading days but profit taking is definitely on the cards for MXI. It's back near your sell price HC. Maybe time to pick them up again.

I actually bought back in this week at $1.135.

Looked like there might have been an insto dumping stock. Was trading between $1.27 and $1.34 only a few days ago.

Unless the wheels have fallen of MXI (excuse the pun), we should be looking for around 8.5cps divvies for the year. That's a FF yield of around 7%.

Moving more and more into parts and retail, so less reliant on cyclical trailer sales.

Smashed today to under $1. No obvious reason why, but it looked like a forced seller to me.

Bought back in this morning at $1.07, but down 7% by the end of the day.

Interesting.......on no new either. Maybe bad news coming next week? On my watchlist for the update. Speeding ticket on the other variety should be issued by ASIC.

I think it would have been a forced seller Soulman, who seemed to want to be all out by the close of trade yesterday. Was expecting (hoping?) for a bounce back today, but after a few pathetic attempts to rise, we closed flat.

Given that the overall market was down 42 points, I'll chalk that up as a victory of sorts.

Just today. Bought in at 98.5. Management update was re-assuring but things can changed for next year.

Currently EPS at 13 cps and PE at around 8. Div yield are above average. Forecast for next year at their full year report in August will be key.

Out today at $1.025 for an overall breakeven result.

Not what I'd envisaged when I initially entered the trade at $1.07, but overall market is looking a little shaky, and futures look pretty RS.

Reckon MXI has a very good chance of paying three 4c to 5c dividends over the next 14 or so months (final, interim, final).

Buying before it goes ex-div should provide for a nice 10% yield (or thereabouts)

Cheers HC. I unfortunately has sold out before the profit announcement. When the market was in fear during Jun/early JUL, MXI was going for a song. Well done to the believer that bought at sub $1.00 and still got them.

Anyway, seems to me there is quite a lot of value out there for shareholders in the mining services sector. Are they value trap or hidden gems? MXI has diversified away from mining so it's more safe.

Never really a mining services stock Soulman (other than at the periphery). If anything, they have slightly INCREASED their direct exposure to mining by buying the AZMEB tipper business last year. But even that appears to have been a good more, as they have apparently used their reach to expand the distribution network for these Queensland built tippers.

Still some cyclicality to the trailer manufacture / sales side of MXI (building and construction activity, droughts in grain growing reasons etc), but, as a proportion of their total business, this is becoming less significant as they build and consolidate (via the newly established Maxiparts division) their truck and trailer parts and spares operation.
