Presenter: Andrew Gibbs

Topic: Trading Systems and Money Management Strategies for Winning Trading Competitions

For our September meeting we have Andrew Gibbs from Strategic Capital Management. Andrew manages millions of dollars and trades a number of sharemarkets and futures markets around the world for a living. Traders with an interest in Shares, CFDs, Futures or Forex should attend.

Andrew will be presenting two trading systems that are easy to apply. The first is a short term trading system for trading the Australian Stock Index the ASX200. The focus will be on how to pick the correct direction in the 1-3 day timeframe and will look at short term price patterns, sentiment and seasonal events that offer a clue as to future direction.

The second system is a medium term trend following system for trading the Volatility Index (VIX) in the United States using the VXX fund and profit from "black swan" events. The system is simple to follow and uses a combination of bollinger bands and an overbought/oversold indicator called Williams PercentR.

Andrew will show how to combine these two systems into a portfolio and add a money management strategy that enables traders to compound profits at a rapid rate in order to generate returns that could potentially exceed several hundred percent over a favourable 12 month period. The strategy can be customised to trading competitions where you have to trade aggressively to win.

We look forward to seeing you there.
