...bruce,,,a fair question....Ive been in the MKT for 3 decades...still find myself confused....PPP....NTA...22.5.....Div of 6 cents...(NZ)...long term big shareholders...(either good or bad ?)....I suspect that this company may be "a play thing" for the majorholders....so in all likely hood patience is required....and a fair bit of faith would probably help.
What happens after the div ?....buggered if I know.....will the NTA ..and general prospects be a consideration.......Digger and his ilk would be better placed to answer.....cheers...

Muchas gracias for the help
As I see this for NZ investor
Australia taxation 58% return the capitals and balance 42% as tax dividend
Nta 17 Austalia cent
Current value Australia 15c

NZ
5c Australia with imputating @ 80c = 6.250c tax taken

So I think after recording day Asx will drop 3c Aus to 14c and NZ pricing to 14cAust @80c = 17c

Please your help

Somewhere about right i would think.
PPP is in an investment class of its own with a number of rods in the fire an a number of possible outcomes. Firstly to have more money in the bank than the SP is about as market crazy as i have ever known the market.Future income while always uncertain is better than the market is giving it credit for. TUI while declining for the next 10 years may well give the same income. Note in the last 12 months the declining output still gave a greater income with oil on the average rise. My take here is that world oil price will have to double in the next decade for the more expensive harder to get at oil to be drilled,so i expect TUI income to remain about the same well into the future,
Now where is the PPPV thing at? This is a bit of an unknown with info not as straight forward as it should be. My guess is that it is a goer for bevelopment but are the Chinese going to grab . They are claiming just about everything else so why not this drill as well.
The other wait in the wing is what is NZO going to do with its stake. Increase or unload. From just a gut feeling with nothing else to go on i would guess a move one way or other is very possible once this capital return is behind us.
However Brucey09 your origional question is unanswerable as it is what the market is all about. You will just get every opion of every sort negative to positive and as always in the end have to decide for yourself. But a good decussion anyways
Cheers

I am thinking about using all the money to buy back more PPP after the capital return. Shame there is no dividend replacement policy.Wonder what the directors are up to here as they in this company are unusally large holders.

Thinking much the same digger though i am expecting the price not to fall the full return price - smaller MC same production and same upside should be an interesting year ahead

Special meeting of shareholders voted 99.5% (by my calculation) in favour of the proposed capital repayment. That has to be an emphatic yes. Must be time NZOG followed that lead and in doing so brought a little discipline to their operations with around a million a month in overheads.

One has to think trading well below EV with TUI, Vietnam and sale of other assets this one is worth more than it is
