I'm just wondering where I can access historical announcements for NZX companies.

For example on NZX.com the earliest annoncement for FBU is 27 Apr 2012, 4:45pm. Where are all the previous announcements stored? There must be an archive somewhere, right?

Announcements consist of a basic text announcement and zero or more PDF 'attachments' (which are usually the interesting bits)

You can get the text bit going back along way from http://stocknessmonster.com (http://stocknessmonster.com/) and I can get 5 years worth of the same from ASB.

I do not know anywhere that has the full announcement with attachments.

NZX is poorly coded so the attachments are all free and accessible online, you just have to edit the browser number.

i.e. This announcement https://www.nzx.com/companies/FBU/announcements/228552, has this attachment https://www.nzx.com/files/attachments/165033.pdf (https://www.nzx.com/files/attachments/165033.pdf)

If you edit the bold number it will changes which PDF you are accessing i.e. https://www.nzx.com/files/attachments/114021.pdf (https://www.nzx.com/files/attachments/114021.pdf) gives you a burgerfuel announcement from 2 and half years ago.

Obviously this is a useless to use but funny to play with, as the attachment number does not correlate with the announcement number, but interesting to know that all the attachments are there and freely accessible, you just don't know what the link is.

The easiest mnethod ds to use the Direct Broking web site.

Enter the code of the company you're looking for into the "Quick Quote" field.

Click on the Drop Down box beside "View" then select "News"

All the annoucements for 2012 will display.

If you're looking for earlier information - click on the "Year" box below the company name and all the previous years will display.

Gosh! So a bit of coding to pull the files off the server, scan the document text for date(s) and company name and store the results to your database of choice. Bit of manual effort to read the ones you program can't cope with and voila... a hard disc full of ???
