Hi, just wandering why when ask and sell price is same but no action taken for long time.Market closed? Otherwise this shouldn't happen as it should clear, almost instantly. Maybe your data feed isn't updating?

Thanks CJ. It was happening after the market opened up, even after lot of trades. Its with ASB securities.

Do you mean you have placed an order that meets sell price, but it was not put to market/filled?

(I have had that happen a few times with Direct Broking and it really annoys me - they do it on illiquid shares which often have wide spreads and they refuse to place an order which would move the market more than 5%, so sit on it waiting for another transaction first)

Hi Lizard.
Thanks.
No I was watching MVN, there was a buy order for 131 and sell order for 131 nothing happened for 5 minutes. Than buy order for 132 came, sell order for 131 was still there with 131 buy order. It took good 10-15 minutes before trades went through.

Think they had an announcement out today ?If that was the case NZX /ASX normally puts stocks in suspense for a certain period of time , to give everyone time to digest the news.

Might well be a large variation between number for sale and the number wanted. A buyer might want 1000 and the seller is selling 10,000 - they wont move in that case - I think.
