How do you view the outcome of the Aussie election effecting NZX companies over the medium term, given a lot of NZ companies do reasonable amounts of business in Australia.. MFT, PGW and FBU just to name a few.

Please note; this thread is not intended to be a political discussion... Its intention is to discuss the likely effects for nzx companies profits given the political environment they will operate it.

Rudd a goner and Abbot the saviour of the markets

Motley Fool were raving on about this wall of money that will come back into the sharemarket and take the ASX200 up to 6000

That will push the NZ market up as well .... and things like FBU, price driven from OZ, is one that will benefit.

It will be all about sentiment .... the economy will remain pretty bad and interest rates will go even lower and the NZD will appreciate against AUD .... maybe even a buck .... which wont help a lot of NZ listed companies exporting there .... but profits will be more when bought back home

So NZX should look better after Sept 7th
