Research Project, NZX Annual close back until 1977

Hello

I am completing a research dissertation at Lincoln University and I require data on the New Zealand Financial Markets. I require the annual close as of the end of May each year back until 1977 for the NZX-50. Of course, the NZX-50 only goes back until 2005 when it changed from the NZSE-40, which in that time period also changed from the Barclays Index. Could anyone suggest where I might be able to locate this data, any suggestions would be much appreciated.

It would be surprising if the NZX didn't have these records. Another suggestion though would be to see whether Brian Gaynor, Milford Asset Management can help. It's not so long ago that he was writing a piece on the course of the Barclays and NZX indices. I imagine he could put you on the right track.
