An interesting alteration to the NZX listing rules seems to be that the record date for an spp can now be set before the announcement of the spp, provided it is announced to the stock exchange the day after the record date.
I actually didn't know this couldn't be done before - I'm sure I've seen it done on the ASX occasionally - but it might encourage companies to raise more capital without worrying that they will trigger a declining price spiral by the announcement.
