The name is a bit of a mouthful, but surprised that there has been no talk of this NZ company that listed on the ASX late December

The Company has a Phase 2B drug, MIS416, to treat secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (SPMS). Currently no approved drugs for the ongoing treatments of this form of MS.

Has received a decent chunk of funding from the NZ Govt for its phase 1B and 2A trials. Currently 23 patients havebeen treated with MIS416 under aCompassionate Use Program and 14 out of the 17 patients with SPMS reported significant improvement insymptoms after 6 months.

Undercapitalised at $33m for a drug at Phase 2B stage- PBT is a decent example of where IIL could go: m/c of $550m

RBS Morgans has a 69c target - link to Research Report below

I picked up this one in January when I did a new screener of AUS to find potential investments this year. Have been doing my DD since then and am currently waiting back to hear from an expert in the field on what he thinks of the product they are trialling.

Will update you if I take a position or not.

Are you in this one steve?

yep, I have a small position

i like the set up, plenty of upcoming news flow to drive a re-rate as it's profile increases

strong register with good broker support

just cleared its IPO price (20c) which is usually a pretty bullish sign

bit of a sell off the past couple weeks, it just hit 18c, down 21% today. Looks to be a bit more than just the change in biotech sentiment likely driving this?

Discl: still cautiously considering an entry

This one is looking really good at the moment. There's plenty of anecdotal evidence that MIS416 is effective (a big one for me is that around 80% of the cuerrent trial patients have requested that they continue with the treatment after the trial is over -- on top of 7 years' worth of Dr and patient feedback through the compassionate use programme in NZ). Very strong price and volume action since April, now sitting at 67c. Their August presentation gives a pretty good rundown on where they're at and what they think is ahead (and is also quite frank about the binary nature of holding IIL through to trial results). The next few months leading up to trial results mid 2017 will be very interesting (they mention that there are a number of big pharma companies watching IIL closely). From the presentation (at http://www.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20160802/pdf/4390w4l7tr6pk5.pdf):

ASX:IIL - Investment thesis

• IIL’s lead drug candidate MIS416 will complete a double blinded
placebo controlled Phase 2B trial for secondary progressive
multiple sclerosis (SPMS) in April 2017
• There is already strong evidence of safety and likely efficacy from
prior trials and a unique 7 year ‘compassionate use’ programme
• There are no drugs currently approved for the safe ongoing
treatment of SPMS
• This unmet medical need could equate to a potential worldwide
annual market of at least US$7.5B or more
• Many large drug companies are following IIL very closely
• IIL expects trial outcomes and a pharma transaction in H2/2017

He is an amazing stock picker, I just never had the balls to ride through the ups and downs of his picks, stop losses would always get hit. For example, start at 30c, all the way down to 10c, and then up to $1.50. Could never time it/keep holding through the dips.

Total failure was not expected.

No, that was completely unexpected and a disaster. Especially for MS sufferers who may have seen MIS416 as a great hope for easing or slowing their condition. I was expecting a weak result at worst, because, as the company themselves have been saying, a complete clinical failure seemed unlikely with so much anecdotal evidence supporting the drug. What a shame. I've had my arse handed back to me on this one but that's life. Carry on.
