Interesting chart

The share of companies coming to market with negative earnings reached 74% in early 2014

Same happened about 14 years ago

Ben and Janet have done well - without them the 600 startups in the IPO pipeline woukd not have raised more than $55 billion.

NZ has it share of loss making listings too ... all going to make gazillions in the future

We be OK because this time it is different .... but sometimes old buggers like me just cant seem to get their minds around the new way of doing things

PS cahrt from here http://www.mauldineconomics.com/ttmygh/the-underpants-gnomes - a bit of a narrative about the new way

Some years ago a respected analyst, Oliver Saint said he would not look at a company until it had five years of earnings history. At the time I thought he would miss a lot of "golden opportunities."
Warren Berryman wrote a great article in the NBR saying that merging three unprofitable salmon farms would not produce one profitable one.Sir Ron Scott threatened to sue him.Berryman said bring it on.!
Different this time? Sums up a new breed of losers.!! Some things never change.! lol.
