Just thinking is there a correlation between the fortunes of listed companies and the election outcome ?...it appears following various polls ....these companies benefit...but like is that the whole story ????

They are trading at a discount currently, MELCA and CEN more so than the others. Just look at the they trended yesterday when the Nats came out pooling at 54%ish.

If you were confident that National will win then its a great time to buy in. I imagine if the Nats win then the next 12 months would be a strong time for gentilers.

Long time ST browser, first time poster.

Being a gentailer holder, was worried about outcome of election early last week - was ready to sell. But Press leaders debate and Friday's polling has installed confidence. Home stretch, with small tax cuts early this week to come. Expecting further gains for my MRP, GEN, MELCA etc tomorrow to follow Friday's. Just weary of what Dotcom's got up his sleeve... ipredict trading at 78% chance National to win.
