Was called addeffective (ABN) - old thread here; now Shoply SHP
http://www.sharetrader.co.nz/showthread.php?9362-Adeffective-Limited-(-quot-ABN-quot-)&highlight=shoply

also has the odd mention on the MBE thread.

Has been morphing itself into a pure online shopping company - with several websites selling toys, electronics, kitchen utensils etc. http://www.shoply.com.au/online-shopping

In its histroy it has renamed itself, grown by aquisition, had a couple of cap raising's, the ususal hotcopper pump & dump, the odd media presentation talking itself up - so im sure it has burnt a few people along the way and some traders have made the odd $ of a few people caught up in the hype.

Anyway all that aside, ive been holding a few for a while, just ignoring the up/down, hype and erratic share price movements, kinda thought it was a dead investment, however the industry as a whole (not necc. this company) has to be a winner with more and more people buying online, rather than locally in traditional retail stores (which I think is bad for towns etc but thats a story for another day). The model also means the company can have a warehouse with a bunch of product and minimal staffing (taking orders and dispatching them) - so it could be low cost, high revenue and possibly high profit as long as they have customers and dont stuff anything up.

Quarterly just came out and its looking promising

yea I had a good read up this morning and purchased a few myself. massive growth and if margins can be grown looks like a nice profit could follow.

Revenue up nearly 250%... yet still no profit. Suggest others read about the start of Amazon.com and they hype the market priced into the stock before thinking about getting rich instantly here.

Not saying it won't succeed, just that there's been a huge sentiment shift on valuations this year and that reading both sides of thr coin is a good idea...

Yes too right BFG, this is an issue - but looks like aquisition costs & building up stock for xmas period may have contributed to negative cashflows.... if you believe management that is. With cost control and more revenue hopefully it can become cashflow positive and profitable over the next few quarters then it should re-rate higher than 2c.

next quarterly will be interesting
