Anyone interested in playing a linking game I just thought of where your aim is to link up all the NZX stocks, not only having fun but also providing good insight in the NZX to others and how they might all interconnect.
How to play:
Step 1: We start off with one general category topic, say "Mobile ", some stocks business involve mobile like Spark who specialises in mobile plans or Snakk Media that does mobile advertising or Vmob that makes mobile apps, where as I could not say warehouse sell mobile phones because that is too broad and not a core part of their business.
Step 2 - Once you add a stock to the category, say Mobile, you also need to add another category that that stock also specialises in. Say I choose Spark for Mobile, my other added category could be they also do retail, which I might add Warehouse since they specialise in Retail, they also do finance if I needed an expanding category.
Step 3 - Repeat until we have done the whole NZX, which will make the last ones extra hard!
A post maybe as simple as posting Mobile - Spark - Retail, then the next person might post Retail - Warehouse - Finance
*Sometimes it might be worth adding a explanation if it is not clear how it is linked or why meets that subject category.
-Each post contain a stock and link gains you get one point for each.
-You can only make one post at a time with one stock and link as a valid answer, if missing one then its invalid.
-You can only add another post after someone else has added after you (meaning no consecutive post)
-Cannot repeat any stock someone else has already said, if you do then it is counted as invalid.
-Categories maybe be repeated, but not consecutively within a stock of each other.
-You can use 5 point to change a link if you are stuck, but you have to think of another link category. You must already have points to use to be able to change link.
-The last person to post when the game ends gets 5 points, thinking of harder topics may cause people to use points to change link category which will cause them to lose points.
-If we come to a dead end and can go no further then its game over and can start on another one if interested.
Since I've already started off with examples lets continue from there, someone think of a company to do with finance and also another linking subject to go with it.
