Maybe Shell is buying back in ,exciting times in the N Z petrochemical industry . but certainly a longway to go no matter what Aderns handouts achieve. sp doing good for the time being :D
Always thought the more these ethical funds /Investors avoid oil etc the more money in it for the rest of us ,& risk !!:t_up: but risks are always there so more volatility for sure.

Shell..exxon .. mobil name are also included to the takeover bid...
-
Like bottomfeeder said earlier, it would never get past the C/C.
My sources tell me Exxon M will bail from the South Pacific region in due course.

It is a win win even the c/c is not going to pass it. Look at IFT....super fund put an offer ...they knew that c/c won't approved it but the market has the confidence back to thier share....now IFT is trading at $7.60
Zel valued at $2.5b according to the paper ...that equal to $5 per share

Past 2 years SP History:
14.8.19: $ 6.82
16.1.20 $ 4.20 (immediately prior to Covid)
23.3.20 $ 2.64 (at the bottom the Covid Dip)
7.8.20 $ 2.79
11.12.20 $ 3.38
6.8.21 $ 3.05
23.0 cps forecast dividend forward - didn't they suggest ?
(and add imputation credits on top - last Div paid 2 Jun 21 was fully imputed)
more value in this one even with the Green / Electric initiatives ?
which aint going to happen fast or overnight
especially when we have a Govt which is still struggling and going backwards on
even it's very first scorecard (housing).. having to pluck excuses out of the hat
on who to blame next for their own stupidity & incompetence .. with any luck may
see them & any Green influences emptied out as early as next election .. ;)
With that, more realistic policies on minerals & oil/gas may come back ..

It will be an Aussie or Indonesian fuel refiner that wants to maintain its market share by shipping to New Zealand. They were just waiting for the call to shut down Marsden Point. I am going to take a punt at $4.85. What's your best guess?
-
My guess it's Shell, or PT Pertamina.
-
Then again why buy Z, when you can buy their share and make a bid for NZ Refining. Can't wait to hear about the updates ahead.
-
A solid whisper said it is almost $5....s your bet is near...
-
I understand there are some suitors sniffing around and have expressed interest. Nothing more. Am I correct?
-
It would disappointing if they didn't completely clean out ZEL's Imputation Credit bank
beforehand with dividends to us all -- cant have that being ignored.. ;)

That big preso of a week or so
Tobacco word count 14 times
Jeez $189m of tobacco sales currently puts it into the SIN STOCK category
And it appears going to promote vaping even more …. Bloody hell
How can Bennett sleep at night.
maybe I’m just naive

WOW.... http://nzx-prod-s7fsd7f98s.s3-websit...302/351086.pdf I was just starting to warm up to the idea of having a small flutter on this but that ESG concern has certainly opened up a can of worms to think about.
Page 18. I didn't realise that tobacco sales were nearly half their total in store sales, that's quite remarkable. Wasn't I reading somewhere else where they expect tobacco sales to drop off quite a lot in the next few years and yet somehow they are targeting 20% in store sales growth ? How is that targeted growth rate plausible if by far the main thing they sell in store is forecast to fall away significantly in the next few years ?
