If you vote for one of the ‘good’ parties of the Left, say you vote Green - then apparently you’ll sleep the sound sleep of the righteous and just knowing the media and state is telling you you are “saving the planet” (you aren’t). Then you wake up one day and find you actually voted for Marama Davidson to ‘give Aotearoa back to its rightful owners’, and global temperatures are still rising. “Ah well, I am the descendent of a filthy exploiting colonialist anyway, so alls well that ends well”.
