I don't think the world is happy.....he said... people has loaded of cash... avoiding share market n the forecast is going to be negative interest....so investors are looking to park age thier money
Uncle Robert said S n P gave AA- credit to NZ...so.. overseas investors are coming..
yes they were remarkably sanguine about our future considering the virus was just a temporary setback
I think they'll be right in the long run but tbh I would've expected at least an 'on watch' or something given how much money the govt just pulled out of its rectum.
If we many years of isolating arrivals like this guy implies property market will be affected

Migration has been a big driver of growth and property last few years so this leads to much lower migration no doubt property values and how many houses we need to build will be impacted
I find that article a bit sickening TBH. Their approach seems to be one of "who cares about the vulnerable?" It's like those that haven't survived are just collateral damage. It might be slightly more acceptable if they new for sure that people who had caught it will remain immune to future infection, but we don't know that yet.
It does hammer home the fact that we've still a lot to learn about this beast. If it does transpire that we have to have such tight restrictions on our borders for many years and suffer continual deadly outbreaks over that time, and Sweden meanwhile has heard immunity in a year or so, then fair play. But at this stage it's a big gamble with people's lives.
Many countries are not in the same position with NZ.... subsidy wages for 12 weeks. Many either face this virus or face hunger....
U either sickn or die catching the virus or die hungry....
