anyone else having trouble connecting or even getting thru on the phone to anzshareandbondtrading?
I don't think they exist anymore. Replaced with
www.anzsecurities.co.nz
does still exist ,think the difference is one was the old Accces brokerage and one is ANZ clients , obviously you could be both :)

ANZ platform is really slow in performing a buy or sell action. I had an existing order for a share,I have just changed this for the current asking price with enough shares on offer to cover my order.
I switched from the orders window to the depth of the share windows, refreshing each time.It took 5 minutes for my order to go through. This happens all the time,it used to be nearly instantaneous, when you clicked buy,a couple of refreshes and your order was done.
I have been told when I rang them that they have to check the csn number etc. but electronically this shouldn't be an issue,as I have had an account for years etc.
In this day and age, that is just absurdly slow, even as the minimum brokerage is $29.90 you would think they would be way more efficient, maybe I could understand it if the brokerage was $7-8 like in the states.
Does anyone know why this is?
Have noticed the same. My guess is that they are holding on the trade to try and match it with another ANZ client (saving them money) - just a guess though.
You would think that would be bordering on unethical though,as they should have your best interest at heart. Risking missing the trade because someone else got in and snatched those shares at the price you wanted to pay.
That way they could also miss out on your brokerage as you change your mind as the next available price doesn't suit.
In this day and age of fast internet and platforms that should be very efficient,it's quite dissappointing to see this happening.
It looks like the ANZ platform has crashed. Was taking 2 minutes to update, now is taking forever.
Does anyone have any insight as to why the ANZ and ASB trading platfroms show different depth/volume figures etc? Both are live so thats not it. ANZ almost always has more buyers at any given price than ASB. Sometimes there is even a different last trade price.
Todays example: 13/09 12:44 AET - XST.ASX taken within a millisecond of each other
ASB:
Last Change Buy Sell Open High Low VWAP Volume Turnover $0.013 0.1
8.3%$0.013 $0.014 $0.012 $0.013 $0.012 $0.013 26,317,050 $337,470
Buyers
6 2,865,897 $0.013
Sellers
5 2,880,315 $0.014
ANZ:
Last Change Buy Sell Open High Low VWAP Volume Turnover $0.014 0.2
16.7%$0.013 $0.014 $0.012 $0.014 $0.012 $0.013 48,282,621 $621,792
Buyers
13 4,084,382 $0.013
Sellers
14 4,375,861 $0.014
I tried to sell some shares yesterday via ANZ on the Asx. Took about 4 minutes from me placing my order to my order being executed. In that time the bid had disappeared and I was not happy. Luckily it got taken by someone about 2 hours later but that really is not good enough is it. A cursory SRN check should take no longer than 30 seconds and the rest should be instantaneous. It could be the broker in AUS that ANZ use that is dragging the chain....
ANZ down for anyone else at the moment?
This is what is showing on mine: "We're sorry but an unexpected system error has occurred. We'll investigate the cause of this error and get it resolved as soon as possible but if you need more immediate assistance please contact us and we'll do our best to help."
Edit: seems to be fine now
Yes been the second time in just the last couple of weeks the platform has had major issues ..just not good enough
is it correct that ANZ charge custody fees on all shares purchased through them? I know they do that for US shares. But surely not for NZ and Australian shares.
No they do not charge custody fees for NZ and Australian Equities. Well not that I am aware of. If you wanted to hold you shares in an entity called "ANZ custodial services" or something like that they probably would. But if you have a CSN, SRN or are Chess sponsored there are no fees apart from brokerage on the buy and sell.
Not for ASX shares, i dont trade/invest on the NZX anymore so not sure
thanks for the responses, blackcap and shasta
My ASX order tonight couldn't go through as apparently I no longer have a CHESS account- presumably will need to wait until after the long weekend to use the new firm? Pretty sure I sent those forms back a few weeks ago... Anyone else having the same message come up when trying to place order on the ASX?
Thanks for your reply. Hmm, I thought I did the CHESS paperwork too but maybe I'm getting confused with the FNZC forms. So still working for everyone else? I get the message come up when I click buy so happens before I can put in the order details in. Yes, will give them a call if it's still not working on Tuesday.
Anyone else having problems with ANZ Securities ?
I am not able to see trading data & no updates after midday as shown below

Read the Synlait thread.
Really likely the new ANZ share investing website (well when it's working hearing a few having issues)
So email arrives today explaining change over to Direct Broking. To use your trading account you now have to call an 0800 number to get a new password, which you can then change to something you want. However the 0800 number says to ring back in business hours. Chaos on Monday morning as everyone wants to get the password before trading opens.
Why was this not done during the last week?
Not a good start.
Curious I am in a limited data area. Have you tried going to the new site and signing in to see if it works. I did but may be getting non updated site which says Direct broking shares coming. Agree if we cant sign on until new password issue - potential chaos monday. Now i have limited data after none friday, wanted to check accounts now. Guess have I will have to go thu link and other register.
All good now, apology email sent to everyone from direct broking to say once up and running we can use old passwords.
New site up and running, not keen on the new graphics, interest rate better at 2% so that's good, my trading balance has reduced by a goodly sum from 6pm on Friday so will need to look into that.
NZD
up to 14,999.99 1.25% p.a.
15,000.00 to 49,999.99 1.50% p.a.
50,000.00 to 199,999.99 2.00% p.a.
200,000.00+ 2.00% p.a.
Yes I noticed this as well, It may be just a timing issue between selling and the trade settling (T+2). From memory ANZ will still be processing these trades and therefore it doesn't show as funds available in the new Direct Broking yet.
Happy with the increased interest rates, AUD increased 0.5% as well (now 1%) :)
Seems to be a bit slow loading announcements. Maybe that will improve
Hmmm - no pre-open market data so far. Will we have a 20 minute delay. And my account doesn't see to be showing any loot in it. (Though there is a interest settlement transaction doen)
The DB site is a joke - doesn't show pre-market matching, 20 min delays, shows depth but not actual trades gone through, market announcements not coming through.
I'm looking for an alternative as I type.
I've placed a few trades on the ASX, but they've been showing as 'Placed' for 20-30 minutes now (ANZ moved to Limit Order within a few minutes). Can understand if it's because it's still pre-market. Hopefully it isn't this slow once trading begins.
Chi-X trades not showing up in the course of trades? I think the price and depth are still updated, but can't see the trades.
If they were doing live runs before the weekend you would have expected that they did not see pre-open or depth update as per schedule. They could have created an alternative data source to test over the weekend.
Looks like they still dont have the link between the cash management account transaction and the cash management account balance working yet. My cash sort of looks like it is there - but not in the part it would need to be if I wanted to transfer it.
That is possible. But do not underestimate the NZX. Back in the day when people would call me was often the NZX's fault even though to the punter it would seem/look as if the broker had the issue. No substitute for the real deal and they probably did try it with an alternative date source to test but an alternative data source would be more reliable. Anyway I am happy to give them a few days to sort their $^#@ out.
Thought they had fixed my portfolio totals in the end yesterday, now its worse than ever, guess i can pretend their totals are right and Im having agood week on NZX.
Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I sent in my unlisted market form to Direct Broking and got a response back saying its all done, but nothing new has shown up in the website. Is that expected?
I thought there was going to be a little new market section added and I would be able to place an order via the site. Was I mistaken or am I just blind?
I cant say for sure Meister, coz I bought on the USX (Unlisted) through Craigs but I tried to add it to the Direct Broking portfolio and couldn't so I'm assuming the portfolio service doesn't include the Unlisted market listings.
It would be cheaper to get them through DB of course so I should probably do that in future. I hadn't considered it an option.
You have to call them to lodge an order but once completed by them, it will show up in your portfolio. The unlisted does not have automated systems for market price etc unfortunately so the likes of brokers such as DB and even Sharesight can not automatically update prices. It has to be done manually.
There are some issues around being able to edit Unlisted holdings on the DB platform. As there are around being able to maintain Fixed Interest positions.
