Zespri - thoughts?

Hey gang, can’t find a thread on zespri. What r ur thoughts? $0.89 div has got me interested... also well run company

Have looked into them in the past and like them a lot but due to recent change only growers are allowed to own shares, similar to LIC.

The revenue from Gold licenses would mean that they have a pot of funds for legal action - and also worth protecting.

How successful Zespri will be is another question.....

yep probably small chance of success, if it was on the other foot , they would shut down 100 % of our imports till it was sorted ....

Classic example of China stealing IP. Pretty much what the US has been banging on about for ages

Yes bob have long had my eye on Zespri. Great operation and real shame we can't take part. Fundamentals are very attractive

Read an article somewhere …got the impression that only growers can be shareholders anyway

And there was a comment that with all the additional disclosures needed for a full listing it’ll bring out the ‘key board warriors’ to analyse all the good and bad stuff.

Yep, only growers can be shareholders currently. But if lining up a NZX listing, then only reason must be to widen their shareholder base. Maybe A & B shares or something similar??
