Suggestion - change heading on next poll to 'Who are you giving your party vote to'. (Keep it simple for the simple)

Have you even given thought that he nobbled them mightily in their first term? It was only when Winston was gone that they started with He Pua Pua, 3 waters, Co-governance et al.

The only way Labour could have been in government in 2017 was if Winston put them there. They couldn’t get there any other way.

If NZ First somehow manage to be involved in the next govt formed I'd be out of here for Aussie.

I think a lot will be going no matter who is in the next government. Division and economic woes seem to be our future, along with a woke / leftist media trying to exert mind control over the populace.

Agreed, we are DINK's with a mortgage free personal home in mid 30's with in demand skills, I've made a lot of investments into NZ and I'm a productive person. I suspect many like me will be the ones leaving. If enough people want WP back in parliament, I say you can have him but you can do it without me.

Winston Peters is the least of our worries now. The genie was let out of the bottle in 2017 and can’t be put back in I am afraid.

You may be right. It's something we will never really know. I think Bill English was unpalatable to Winston and vice versa. Jacinda and the Labour caucus probably hoodwinked him a bit too. I think he has some serious regrets.

NZ First voters are the ones that should have some serious regrets. They stuffed this country when they voted for him in 2017. Common sense? Turn it up! They voted for him purportedly because they like what he says about immigration, he gets in and immigration is forgotten and instead it’s the baubles of office for Winston & ‘1 billion trees and a Provincial Growth Fund’. Let’s be honest: they really vote for him because they have a crush on him, he’s never delivered anything except the Super Gold Card in his entire career.

Well, lets not forget - he delivered once a winebox to parliament. And actually, this was one of his better hours. Problem with Winston is - he is quite good in opposition, just keep him away from the baubles of office.

Vision New Zealand -the political arm of Brian Tamaki’s Destiny Church is led by his wife, Hannah Tamaki. This will be the second election the party has contested after receiving 4,236 votes in 2020, or around 0.1 percent of the total vote. That is true that historicailly The Greens have had a high share of overseas votes. We should not assume that will happen in this election. I expect a very different outcome from overseas votes, to the last few election results.

Green voters tend to be younger whereas Nats tend to be older NZ property and asset owners. So those National voters would have more need to stay in NZ. I also agree that NZ has been rewarding its wealthier retired land owners, more than it has its younger income earners struggling to start out.

I was talking to an old Green voter the other day. He was saying “they’re the only ones doing something about the climate”. I just held my tongue. They are doing absolutely nothing about ‘the climate’, and in any case NZ is only responsible for 0.17% of global emissions. The Greens stand for radical Treaty of Waitangi policies & radical ‘wealth tax’ policies: wealth taxes do not work & invariably have been dumped whenever they have been tried in Europe. The Greens are marxists who engage in ‘the politics of envy’.
