yes - through Greenplan (wasn't technically me but was invested in my name). As boring as watching trees grow.
Showed growth at the start but judging by the market value, they haven't grown an inch in the past 10 years.
Who knows what the log price will be at the time of harvest but I am not holding my breath. I thought our climate was meant to be a competitive advantage but apparently, trees grow everywhere.
Have been involved with Forestlands for about 10 years, investing in lots of 1k.
News letter the other day tells me that all blocks have been sold and we can expect a payout April or close to it.
Will let you know what type of return i get but i don't expect heaps as Forestlands term it as ''A return of investment funds'''as opposed to a ''MAJOR RETURN ON INVESTMENT'',but then again i could be wrong,HOPE SO.
NBR article headline''''Forestry in for banner year''''

Seems like FORESTLANDS have come to the attention of the FMA after various complaints.
I am just hoping this doesn't turn sour because i will be utterly p......d off.
Just found out it was to an Aussie co for approx 18 million.
The SFO have been called in to investigate some issues.
OH,OH.

I recall reading somewhere that 'do not invest in anything that grows'. Forestry, ostrich farms, etc have all had their ups and more often, downs!
Anyone investing in NZ forestry via the US Stockmarket? I have a small amount in Rayonier (US + NZ (Matariki) forests) or just using NZ port shares as a proxy?
