Thought there was already a thread,however I can't find it.
Some of us brought in a few years ago.I sold out and brought back in not long ago,after a strong update.
Been awhile gaining traction,but with talk of a divie later this year, things are starting to line up.
Interestingly the share price has been held back this week with a big seller ,with over 1 million shares on the sell side at 33 cents.
Well fun and games late this afternoon, with 8.5million shares traded and the share price closing at 34 cents.

I’m still in Percy .

Been hodling strong for several years

These chaps https://www.sargoncapital.com.au/ just bought 12% of the cap off a director. Expecting a very nice return from SEQ within the next 12 months.

SEQ had 102,805,525 shares on issue.With 15,151,515 new shares issued the total number of shares on issue is 117,957,040.
At 34.5 cents per share the market cap is now $40,695,178.
The capital raise supports a $15mil bond the ASX requires for clearing house activities.

Good result out today.
eps doubled and paying a modest divie.

Pretty good result, couldnt get the same numbers as reported though. Will spend some time over the weekend looking at it properly.
Have they been calculated on 118mil shares or 102mill?
Is this the first time they are paying a divi?

The new shares were issued after year ended 30th June.ie on 20th July,so at 30th June go with 102mil..
Yes it is their first dividend, and will be paid to holders of [now 118mil shares],as the record date is 11th October..

Massive increase in revenue but losses forecasted for the half...not overly impressed

When I brought in again I thought the sp would go from 32 cents to 42 cents.
Wrong again.22 cents today.
Reminds my of the old definition of long term hold;"A short trade that did not work out".!

Yeah a mess for sure, really dont like how the report is laid out, the first page should have all the basics on there. Revenue, EBIDTA, NPAT, EPS etc etc.
Now we have to go through the entire report up and down to get the info, I little annoying IMO.

I do not think we will learn to much from the report.
Stuff written down etc.Why did the CEO get rolled and why did director Larsen resign.?..I do not have a clue,but the chairman is in control and acting CEO.There appears to be a plan.? Sargon Capital may be pulling strings?
As I posted lets see if they can walk the walk or do as they say they will.

Larsen back,two other capable people joining the board.?
And a "fill in" leaving.

A very volatile management team imo, there was very sudden departures and now arrivals of directors. Will let it play out and see where we are in a few months but not a fan of this sort changes, it’s as if the team need to deal with more than just business as usual which is a worry for me. I like a focused management team that have no dramas to worry about. In saying that, TRA is focused but that sure isn’t playing well for the sp lol

Am in a similar boat with IOOF IFL financial service provider ,someway to get back to green, been a tough year in this sector with the Govt heavy regulatory reviews etc.

Wheels look like they are falling off this one unfortunately

No news out yet so will be an interesting annual report as it’s either turned to custard like the half year or they got it back on track. Revenue was still pretty good in the last report, so there is still a business there if they can clean up and integrate the other bits

i think Sargon Capital are still a major shareholder,so as you point out there is still a business there.

Today's small bolt on acquisition is the first bit of good news for some time.
Let's hope it continues.

Garry Crole's interviews on Finance News Network are positive.
Nearly $19 mil cash,businesses bulked up,more advisors, and expect 23% revenue growth.
Will continue to hold, and decide what to do when I can judge whether they are on track or not.That means waiting until their interim result.

10% buyback isn’t too shabby.

Been a few positive announcements.
25/11/2019.ASX requires SEQ's broker Morrison Securities to hold less capital.This will free up $6.5mil.
2/12/2019.Director John Larsen has added to his holding.
2/12/2019.Director Garry Crole has added to his holding.
4/12/2019.Former MD Scott Beaton has sold shares and is no longer a substantial shareholder.Not sure whether he has completely sold out.
Not announced.So far the share buy back has not started.

You are not alone.
SEQ,TTI,MMI,MSV have not been good for me,although AQZ,MMI and MSV have been doing what they said they would do..
Possibly been foolish,however I have added to my AQZ,MSV,MMI and SEQ holdings this year,[on positive announcements] . TTI I have virtually given up on.
Sold my TFL to buy more MMI.

Liked the last announcement re: YBR, added a few more to my tiny position.

Pleasing seeing a buyer for 1,000,000 at 22 cents.

TTI keep carrying the "story" to the next half, really annoying. Im still holding, mainly cos its such a small holding it is more of a "hope" stock. I got out of PNC as soon as it was allowed to trade. Massive loss there, almost 50% but lesson learnt!
Move those funds to SEQ and a few more Msv.

TTI.Yes carrying the "story " yet again to the next half was really annoying,but the $10.5mil goodwill right down/off hole in their balance sheet was the last straw for me.
A couple or three years ago, I found Aussie small caps a lot harder.I sold out of most of them and put the funds into PAZ on NZ Unlisted,which was/is a "high conviction" stock for me. As they say,"the rest is history".

I note 20% shareholder Sargon Capital are having issues.
I am being very hard nosed.Anything I have doubts about I am selling straight away.
So SEQ sold.

Yeah I read some stuff yesterday about Sargon, but as a shareholder how does that effect the SEQ business? Other than a quick sale of that 20% how else would it effect seq. I am pretty naive to these sorts of things so any information on the domino effect will be must appreciated. All in the learnings for me

Mainly uncertainly on my part.
Sargon had been building stakes in the sector .
There had been the possibility of Sargon taking over SEQ.
So with Sargon having issues it would appear their 20% holding could/will come on the market.They certainly will not be taking over SEQ .
Former Scott Beaton sold most or all of his shares causing share price weakness,so I would think it will take a lot of time for SEQ's share price to come right.
So I have my doubts.When I am in doubt now with small cap Aussie stocks I sell straight away.

Sorry to hear others having similar negative experiences with the ASX. I learned lots this year too (I really mean that).

I was fortunate enough that i only lost a couple of grand on the ASX this year. I think M7T saved me.

Next financial year should be a great year for all.

Maybe we should have a thread for companies that don't do what they say? ... and i guess a list of ones that do would be useful too!

Yeah its been interesting on the ASX, the announcements sound great and the results are the opposite. They seem to throw in some bombs in there from massive earnings growth to suddenly a loss....
Very small % of portfolio in the ASX and all but one in the green. Will let the year play out and decide.

Good to see more in the black this time around compared to last year.

Decent result today. Business getting back on track.

I listened to the investor briefing. He was reasonably bullish , but wasn't talking it up . Mentioned dividends a number of times. I think they will be able to keep picking up business as this industry evolves. 2nd half of the year is always bigger for them as well....

Didnt get a chance to listen in. I think its heading in the right direction now, margins are still pretty lean though... A very small position and will keep holding for now

DISC: Well positioned

After reading www.dmxam.com.au latest newsletter, where they thought "a minimum 30% EBITDA uplift for the year" I doubled my holding.Interesting to note that that increase % is nearly double SEQ's current PE of 15.28.
Also buying are directors Carry Cole on 1/12/2021 and John Larson on the 3/12/2021 and today.
The old saying directors buy for one reason,but sell for a number of reasons comes to mind.

Simple business model, prudent but ambitious management, no debt, capital light, strong brands, sector tailwinds, low multiples, high growth, economies of scale, long runway for expansion.

Awhile ago I was so impressed with DMX's seq forecasts I doubled my SEQ holding.Not huge,but my largest Aussie holding.
PTG and MSL also have reported.Was not too sure about their results,however the market liked them and their share prices are up..lol.

KW suggested I buy APT at $1.50..I did not like the idea of young people getting into debt,so I did not buy any.
One day I will write a list of all the great shares I either sold too early,or decided not to buy..............lol.

The only downside appears to be one big seller. Been kicking around for a long time. Think they got shares a few years back as one of the things we acquired , when they are finished I'm sure these will push on.

Anyone still holding SEQ? I see they have done a deal to sell a part of the business and will be left with net cash of $40m.

I did a back of the envelop calc and looks like trading on a EV/NPAT multiple of 5-6ish

Note the sale already hit a hiccup at the first payment date ..... Yes I have them. Be good if he would payout the money from that sale .However it looks like he is going to keep bolting on small acquisitions like the one announced yesterday.

Back in recently re 53.5c.Looks like value adding up soon,to me.

With forecast EBITDA of ~$10m it is trading on ~3.5x EBITDA;

Well for a financial services business not being able to direct credit into my NZ a/c raises questions,considering a scaffolding business,a kitchen manufacturer and retailer,together with an aircraft engine repair business manage to do so.
As I could not receive my last dividend I donated it to charity then sold my SEQ shares.

This is why I have all my Aussie holdings via Shareies. Cant be bothered with managing all that admin. Leave it to them via the custodial system

Shareies is an idea.
What I like about Craigs is a trade I did earlier this year.
Rang them late afternoon.Buy 2CC in NZ,sell BLV.L in UK.
Next morning received the contract for both trades.BLV.L proceeds covered the 2CC purchase.
Last Friday sold some KMD in NZ and added to my XTE in Aussie.
Now I very much doubt I could do these trades with Shareies .
Another Aussie company that had no touble paying my divie into NZ bank a/c was a drilling company.
So why can't a Financial Services Company look after their NZ shareholders.?

ps.All was OK with SEQ while they had a DRP.

Done well with aircraft repairers over the years.Started with Heico in US,Airwork NZ,Alliance in Oz, and the one you are referring to.PTB.

You can easily setup AUD forex accounts with wise.com. This means you have your own aussie bank account.

Thanks Noodles,but I fail to see the point of having an Aussie bank a/c.Surely any decent Aussie share register should be able to pay into NZ bank a/cs..
Sold my PHX yesterday .cum capital return as I noted their share registry is Automic.
Checked my holding on Automic's web site and noted I could not navigate to include my NZ banking details.
Last time I received a divie from Automic it took about 3 emails,a similar amount of phone calls .About a month to sort out.
