M/S sector has been hot lately.Lots of good results coming out;some cashed up; takeovers ahead?
Provides engineering and contracting services to the construction and mining Industries

SRG Ltd. engages in the provision of providing engineering and contracting services.

It operates through the following segments: Construction, Mining, and Corporate segments.

The Construction segment offers construction services, post tensioning, concrete placement, and remedial operations.

The Mining segment includes services mining clients and production drilling.

"SRG(formally STS) SP keeps on improving basically doubling in the last 12 months to a $78 mill MC. But delving deeper SRG with a recent property sale and upcoming FY results will have in excess of $30mill in the kitty giving it a EV of $45mill. Have flagged a FY NPBT of $8-9 mill. Very much a diversified play in mining/infrastructure. The chairman is a former Leighton MD. But the big one for me is this contract when known as STS."

    No Debt

Approx 63 mill shares on issue mkt cap re $78 mill

3 of Management in Top 10 holders.

$150 million contract over 5 years below. Umbrella deal adds $110 mill.

Think the mining service sector will have some big winners in time . MND got hammered yesterday on their result .
I like TPP in this sector and am currently holding . Looking to add more in this space .

Good to see you're back again, always enjoy your posts. What do you make of the merger? Seems positive to me, but haven't been following company in much detail since last year (never bought in unfortunately).

I am not back yet, that will be in September.
I still have at least 2 planes, 3 trains, 2 boats and 11 hotels to go (at the time of writing).

Anyway in complete contrast to the piece that JT stole from somewhere I see it as a reasonably balanced merger but with GCS holders getting the slightly better deal.

The market prices shares on, amongst other things, future expectations.

As separate entities SRG has the better growth prospects which gave it a higher 'rating' by the market.
You will notice that the combined entities name appends Global on to SRG and that the most prominent reaction (downwards) has been in the SRG price/volume.

As far as I can see I would be swapping my higher potential growth (and also more volatile) SRG for a more staid conglomeration.

However I have at the present moment it time no particular desire to sell my SRG shares,
and more importantly I am off to see Superstar Rajini super-starring as Kaala today:

Anyone had a look at recently listed Johns Lyng Group (JLG)?

S/P finished 7% up. Very happy to hold this for longer atp as work in hand already far exceeds last year plus the 5 year $150 mill contract with EVN and SRG is really just beginning its transition after laying foundations to adapt and change from STS. Stong niches including dams,a patented sure lock system and a huge Global pipeline, newish leadership, loads of cash and an EV of $60 mill.Im bullish.
