Great ethical investment IMHO ....disgusting we don't allow medical use ....some of my other investment payout I'll certainly be looking to invest the funds in the sector 2017

Thanks for this post Joshuatree - just what I was searching for. A great starting point. Have a friend who's done well in this sector in Canada recently. Some compelling numbers coming out of North America.

Working my way through the price anomalies for today and I came across the following:

SCU (Stemcell United) to pursue opportunities in Medical Cannabis sector

Having traded on only three days this calendar year with very little turnover, todays 3000+% rise in closing price from 1.3c to 41c (high of 50c) on turnover of $362K appears to have lit up the company for the moment.

I'd love to invest in Medicinal Marijuana but haven't found the right company yet. Peter Dunne has always indiciated that any changes to the laws in NZ would be after a move by Australia. Bad thing is that its not something Bill English would ever look into.

"People in North America spent $53.3 billion on legal, medical, and illicit marijuana in 2016. That's more cash than Americans blow in a year at McDonald's and Starbucks combined.
According to a new report from Arcview Market Research, a leading publisher of marijuana market research, the black market is losing ground to its legal counterpart as consumers spend more money each year on legal cannabis. Progress is slow, however.
The North American legal weed market posted $6.7 billion in revenue in 2016, up 30% from the year before. The illicit market generated 87% of total pot sales, down from 90% in 2015.
The numbers suggest the legal marijuana industry is growing quickly, but it has a ways to go before it topples the black market, which has the lion's share of revenue.
2016 was a big year for weed. Seven US states legalized cannabis in some form on Election Day. California, the sixth-largest economy in the world, became the biggest domino to fall with the passage of Proposition 64. Much of the West Coast is now a legal enclave for recreational pot."

The old tiger radar spots Zyber Holdings today, and at a first glance it is the sort of company that you run away from as quick as you can.

But there, suddenly, yesterday it is off and when you read the Market Update Announcement you spot the magic words 'medical cannabis'.
Nothing solid you understand.
Just a hint that maybe something could happen.


I have written to all the companies I have holdings in suggesting that they might want to put a rocket up their share price by suggesting that they are contemplating something in the 'medical cannabis' field.

BHP reckon they will give it a go, should double in price soon.


And as an update on my great find from last week, SCU, it has subsequently been bought and sold across the range $0.155 to $1.085 by a bunch of drug crazed traders.
