If you want to do something sensible - maybe you can prepare a wee speech for your grandchildren to explain to them why their grandfather supported a liar and a crook who loves his money more than our (and their) environment, more than our and their freedom and more than the lives of children.

I am sure they will be proud of you! Would be interested to get a copy of that speech - it better be good!

Good enough result for the Dems and it somehow restored my faith/belief a bit on the americans doing the right thing. That Vulgar_ian Comedian of the White House is hurting inside about the result and cannot hide it when when questioned by CNN's Jim Acosta about the "invasion of migrants". His delivery of jokes will start to diminish from now on.

Time out is good for the soul (or for one’s state of mind) they say

Shouldn't be long now before Donald comes out and repeats his suggestion that all bars and night-clubs should have armed guards; and of course if all the patrons were armed then the perpetrator in this latest California mass shooting would have been stopped in his tracks.

Quite weak attempt to excuse the dealings of an deeply corrupted president. And really - you should use the word "fake news" only for stuff coming from the liar in chief himself.

What if any facts did the NYT misrepresent?

An interesting view here but I don't see that it discredits the NYT view at all - they are just views.
Neither articles are fake news - they are valid analysis of what Trump has said.
They oppose each other and people will pick the one that replicates the picture that they, themselves, have - they will probably call the other fake.

Trump has chosen Saudi Arabia as his prefered partner and the US has a poor record of chosing sides.
I suppose it is good that he has been fairly open to say "I have heard all the facts and opinions and don't care - I'm going with SA because of ...".
At least he hasn't invoked God as Bush did with Iraq!

    Default Confused ...

    From "Wall Street Breakfeast":

The peso is on watch after President Trump threatened to "permanently close" the U.S southern border.

"Mexico should move the flag waving Migrants, many of whom are stone cold criminals, back to their countries," he wrote on Twitter. "Do it by plane, do it by bus, do it anyway you want, but they are NOT coming into the U.S.A....Congress, fund the WALL!"

Just wondering - how can he know that many of the poor souls at the Mexican border are "stone cold criminals"?

Does he know everything - is he God? Oh no, I've got it - he must have watched Fox news and seen seen some of his old buddies in crime and now he is afraid they identify him as the master crook. Makes sense to ask Mexico to send them back ... clever crook. Deserves to be president.

Now we know why Trump put that much effort into praising Putin during the 2016 election: He wanted to get a better Trump Tower deal in Moscow! Obviously- he lied about it to the American public - and opened himself that way to "leverage" from Russia. Trump did hold the US public in the dark, but Putin obviously knew.

Who would have thought that integrity might be a desirable trait for a US president after all?

    from todays NYT Opinion:
The guilty plea yesterday by Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, makes clear that Trump remained focused on his business throughout much of the 2016 presidential campaign. Among other things, he was lobbying the Russian government to approve a Trump Tower in Moscow. And he was lying to the American public about it.
“Trump’s actions represented an extraordinary conflict of interest,” National Review’s David French writes. “Americans were listening to Trump’s praise of Putin without realizing his profit motive.”
Lying about the deal, in turn, gave Russia leverage over Trump, as the former F.B.I. agent Asha Rangappa has explained. Russia “has continued to have leverage since, because he never disclosed it and his people lied about it,” she tweeted.

Interesting question: Can America survive a criminal presidency? Are there enough good men left?
