    Default NZ Forestry Investments

Has anyone looked into investing in NZ Pine Forests or currently invests in them?

Care to share any further info on your experiences?

yes - through Greenplan (wasn't technically me but was invested in my name). As boring as watching trees grow.

Showed growth at the start but judging by the market value, they haven't grown an inch in the past 10 years.

Who knows what the log price will be at the time of harvest but I am not holding my breath. I thought our climate was meant to be a competitive advantage but apparently, trees grow everywhere.

Have been involved with Forestlands for about 10 years, investing in lots of 1k.
News letter the other day tells me that all blocks have been sold and we can expect a payout April or close to it.
Will let you know what type of return i get but i don't expect heaps as Forestlands term it as ''A return of investment funds'''as opposed to a ''MAJOR RETURN ON INVESTMENT'',but then again i could be wrong,HOPE SO.

Who did Forestlands sell too? Not selling to their mates as the forest starts to mature so they can make a killing at your expense.

Doesn't actually say in the newsletter.
The Forest Estate was made up of approx 20 different blocks of land, all ages from 15/28 years but because they were owned seperately, compliance and accounting costs were eroding the value of a standing 100 hectare forest every 3/4 years.

Seems like FORESTLANDS have come to the attention of the FMA after various complaints.
I am just hoping this doesn't turn sour because i will be utterly p......d off.
