Eden Energy - Alternative Energy play
Eden Energy has excellent prospects and has a variety of interests in alternative fuels based on hydrogen technologies, geothermal, natural gas and also products and processes associated with storage and conversions.
The major component im interested in is the hydrogen products and in particular Hythane which is being rolled out in India where the Indian govt is promoting cleaner energy sources. The blending of natural gas and hydrogen produces cost savings as well as lower emissions. This combination of cost savings and lower emissions were a particularly important result which secured the tender to supply within India.
116m ords
36m options Sept 2009 ex @ 20c
current makt cap around $A49m excl. opts
Cashflow burn rate is relatively high so additional shares may need to be issued before options and income increases to cover out-goings
The company also intends to divest its geothermal assets into a new company Terratherma and complete an IPO. It also intends to divest its UK and SA gas interests into a new AIM listed vehicle. Eden will retain significant holdings in both new vehicles but will focus its resources on the hydrogen component.
There seems to be a PR issue with management but have not seen anything to understand why this might be the case
Eden Energy has the following interests
Hydrogen technologies
- Hydrogen technology & patents for the use and storage of hydrogen both as a liquid and a gas
- Hythane® - transitional technology for converting gas engines to run on hydrogen; major pollution reducing benefits
- Cryogenic storage systems
- Fuel Tanks, Fuel Systems, pumps, conversion kits
- SMESS - Superconducting Magnetic Electrical Storage System
- Hydrogen production - on-site hydrogen generation systems and supply solutions for industrial and consumer manufacturing processes and for transportation refueling applications
South Wales Projects
- Coal Bed Methane
- Abandoned Mine Methane
- Conventional petroleum
Natural Gas
- Arthur Hill Anticline - Mulgaria Sub-basin; Adelaide Geosyncline, South Australia
Geothermal Energy - deep heat mining for clean continuous power
- Witchelina Project, located between Leigh Creek and Roxby Downs, South Australia
- Renmark Project, South Australia
- Moomba North Project, South Australia
- Bollards Lagoon Project, South Australia
- Mungeranie Project, South Australia
Hydrogen from Natural Gas Pyrolysis
- Development of a cost-effective, low-temperature, CO2-free hydrogen production system

It's almost scary, the way we seem to be looking at the same companies!
I've held off posting on EDE as i havent bought in yet...
I do like it's potential, but Management are selfish & greedy & seem to be in it for themselves.
There Hythane project in India seems to be the jewel in the crown.
What else are you currently holding by the way?
Oh, & for those wanting a cheap entry into EDE, check out TAS...
Will start a thread on TAS soon
Whilst the Alternative Energy cat is out of the bag, have a look at CNM...
(I'll start a thread for this soon too)

Just be very careful about hydrogen tech in general. I have not done any work into this company so I cant comment in detail.
Hydrogen is still not a viable alternative energy source. It is still about 50 years away before it can be economical to use. Hydrogen research burns throu capital like fire. It cost more to develop the gas into hydrogen than to use the gas itself.
I have friends who do research in this field.
Having got ourselves into a debt-induced economic crisis, the only permanent way out is to reduce the debt – either directly by abolishing large slabs of it, or indirectly by inflating it away.

nice one again bear.
theyve got a good story to tell, especially the hydrogen businesses (hythane generators look a beauty and the hydrogen station construction could turn out to be a nice earner).
they do seem to have fingers in many pies, which adds significant risk IMO.
especially in light of the high cash burn rates, with enough to cover the next quarter.
im curious as to how you spend ~11million on administration in 9 months! thats 110 people earning more than 100K!
id want to see them closer to generating revenue. at the moment, it seems as though they are forming lots of relationships and demonstrating tech to potential customers to get traction in the market; so possibly 12 months away from getting money in the door.
will be watching this one closely to see how well they go about their housekeeping and spin-offs. too early for mine.

I totally agree, this company relies on cheap natural gas as a feed stock. Peak gas will follow peak oil!
A hydrogen economy will not take off because it conflicts with the laws of physics.

This ann should attract more attention for EDE
The Indian Hythane project looks even more promising now...

This could be huge if it takes off in India (could China be next?)

If EDE raise funds to fast track the Hythane project, this is big!
