Not sure how you would short housing but shorting aussie banks or other companies risks more than 100% of your capital and I have no idea how long the central banks can keep the bubble inflated. I suspect a lot longer, young people are mortgaging themselves quite heavily to enter the housing market and based on the "hatch" ads we are only just starting to see retail investors entering the stockmarket.

I will try and act on your last bit of advice though, starting by not posting on this site unless it is something actually related to investment.

As I see inflation so does those who control the OCR.

    RBNZ

The Committee noted that capacity constraints are contributing to rising headline inflation. Mirroring global developments, inflationary pressure in New Zealand has been accentuated in the near term by one-off factors such as higher oil prices, and temporary factors such as supply shortfalls and rising transport costs. This is expected to push inflation above 4 percent in the near-term, before returning towards the 2 percent midpoint of the target band from mid-2022. Medium and long-term inflation expectations remain anchored at 2 percent.

    Inflation is transitory.(me)

The CPI represents inflation for the RBNZ but their policies are driving up asset prices and increasing inequality.

No surprises with this announcement. The outbreak a Godsend for Adrian to not do anything.

Orr will be breathing a huge sigh of reflief that there has been a new COVID outbreak providing a justification for him to continue to sit on his hands.
Anything to keep his asset bubble inflating while savers continue to get screwed.

You'd think they would be able to delay a decision by a few days to give a chance to gauge a true picture of whether the outbreak is contained, or rampant in the community.

What do you mean no surprises?

I have been posting why they shouldn't raise the OCR and deflation is the main reason.

    China's economic growth slows
    Spending falling in the US.

The RBNZ have turned the money printer off plus many long term deflationary force's.

It's no surprise because I have been changing the narrative on this socialist forum.

    Logan Ninefinger.

Stuff/Dom post is a socialist mouthpiece.

Do your own research not what they want you to think.

Many thanks, we would be lost without you.

I have been saying they won't raise the OCR significantly for a while now.

Our reasoning is different but the result is the same.
