The Deep State Is Real
https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/09/05/deep-state-real-cia-fbi-intelligence-215537/
Beneath the politics of convenience is the reality that a large segment of the U.S. government really does operate without much transparency or public scrutiny, and has abused its awesome powers in myriad ways. And sometimes the government bureaucracy really does exercise power over the commander in chief: Obama felt that the military pressured him into sending more troops to Afghanistan than he had wanted, while an inexperienced George W. Bush was arguably led to war by a bipartisan cadre of national security insiders who had long wanted to take out Saddam Hussein.

A deep state refers to a clandestine network of individuals within a government, often comprising unelected officials and various institutional entities, that operates independently of elected leadership. This term is typically associated with the notion that these actors exert significant influence over state policy and governance, often in pursuit of their own agendas, which may conflict with the democratic process.
The deep state in the US is a network of federal employees, particularly those who work for the FBI and CIA, that collaborates with prominent figures from the financial and business sectors to wield power alongside or inside the democratically elected US government.
The term “deep state” was first used in the 1990s to refer to what was thought to be a long-standing deep state in Turkey. However, the phrase was later used to describe the US government, particularly under the Obama administration.
The term deep state gained widespread acceptance under Trump's presidency, as he alleged that the purported “deep state” was working against him and the policies of his government.
Deep State, The Swamp. Grey areas indeed. No doubt stronger forces than Joe are at the helm.

What about the massively rich and influential backers of the Republicans that you fail to mention? The Koch brothers,.the Bush family, Rupert Murdoch and then there is Harlen Crow of course who owns a Supreme Court Judge, a Republican appointment who thinks constraints on political donations is an affront to democracy.

You have to find which senators are against citizens united (ie large political donations), there are more of them on the democrat side.
The republican party is more of an investment scheme than a political movement...pay some money today and get a tax cut and less regulation down the track.

Thanks Daytr, I was indeed referring to ardent Trump supporters who will support him no matter what. I really find it hard to understand why they do. They acknowledge his faults but……. And that article which said “the key to understanding why the members of privileged groups would be vulnerable to Trump’s appeals is this: subjective perceptions of exclusion or disrespect,” really struck a cord because it seems to be a common trait and apply to all the Trump supporters that I know. I was not referring to the swing voters. So it is an emotional response, based on how they feel, and not on critical thinking.

Some guy called Brandon Smith fancies Trumps chances
“Donald Trump is looking increasingly likely to be the winner of the presidential race. I have long held that the globalists will wrap up an economic collapse or a world war and throw it in Trump’s lap”
”When investors are euphoric, they are incapable of recognising euphoria itself “

The Deep State.
The bondholders control the power of the state in their own interest.
According to David Harvey there is a wonderful illustrative moment when Bill Clinton was elected President in 1992. This may be an apocryphal story. He had just been elected and he set out to outline his economic program. Clinton’s economic advisors, most notably Robert Rubin, who came from the major investment bank Goldman Sachs, looked at him and you can’t do that economic program. And Clinto replied, “Why not?” And Rubin said something like, “Wall Street won’t let you.”
“Do you mean to say,” Clinton reportedly said, “that my whole economic program, and all my prospects for re-election, are dependent on a bunch of f…… Wall Street bond traders.” And Rubin apparently said “Yes.”
Clinton came in promising universal healthcare and all kinds of wonderful things, and what did he give the US? He gave them NAFTA. He gave them reform of the welfare system so it became much more punitive. He gave them reform of the criminal justice system that accelerated mass incarceration. He gave them the WTO and at the end of his term, he repealed Glass Steagall, the last firewall of regulatory control over investment banking. In other words, he implemented a whole program that Goldman Sachs had long wanted.
There have been very few moments in US history since Clinton when the Secretary of the US Treasury has not come from Goldman Sachs. This is an important indicator of the way in which the bond-holders dictate what can be done in the realm of state power.
If you say this in the United States, you are immediately accused of conspiracy thinking. Nobody believes you. But if you go to Greece and ask the people there whether or not the government or the bondholders control thinks then you get a very different answer. If you go on to ask: “who forced all this austerity down your throats after 2011? Who is really in control here? The answer is of course, the bond-holders and a socialist government, Syriza, which at a crucial moment caved in to financial interests, to implement measures which were demanded by the bondholders.

USA had Billy the Kid.
Now Kamala is positioning herself as the self professed Working Class Kid.
Kamala wanting to be associated where Donald resonates very well.
She makes some undebatable points though.
"The children of the community are the children of the community"
I see.
She says it with such conviction, she makes it sounds like she is telling her audience something they didn't know.
Back to the cats Kamala.

A whole website devoted to Trump’s misdeeds, misconduct, mismanagement.
Welcome to American Bridge 21st Century's Donald Trump opposition research hub. Originally launched before the 2020 election, this website exists to help allies find the research needed to defeat Donald Trump. ….. He then spent his four years in office sowing bigotry, chaos, and indisputable harm on the country he inherited.
https://trumpresearchbook.com/en/home/trump-personal-reports#corruption
Trump’s election brought on an environment of corruption and incompetence that pervades the whole administration. His appointees have repeatedly used their office to enrich themselves and their families, or else have hurt the nation by leading government agencies for which they are woefully ill-equipped
Trump let lobbyists, big businesses, and donors run wild with federal government power to serve their own interests.
Anti-democracy/Solicits Foreign Interference The major investigations of Trump's presidency, including his impeachment and the Mueller Report, have established a pattern showing that Trump will do anything to maintain his own power, including solicit foreign governments to undermine American democracy.
Trump Had A History Of Not Paying His Lawyers
Donald Trump encountered multiple legal fee disputes. Levine Staller successfully sued him for $1.25 million. Morrison Cohen settled a $500,000 disagreement out of court. William Scherer claimed $5,000, and David Hopper settled a $95,000 dispute. Michael Cohen's $3.8 million lawsuit was resolved in 2023. Additionally, several 2020 election lawyers, including Rudy Giuliani, struggled to receive due payments.
