Interesting to know what the commercial viability of this would be like - Extracting lithium from renewable geo-thermal sources on paper is a lot more sustainable and cost-effective than current mining methods used worldwide.
I hope they could get intellectual property rights for the methods used to extract the lithium.
Will be watching this company closely going forward.

Went to Argentina last year. Except from an email below for those interested.
Lot of mining up there, including salt and lithium from the salt flats on which Argentinia is placing some big bets. You may be interested in the links, chromatography to recover the Li, new process apparently much cleaner and more economical than traditional evaporation techniques.

Hmmmm...see the links don’t work.
Anyway, they are recovering a Li rich brine from below the salt flats. And are developing a chromatography method to purify the Li. Apparently a lot more ecologically friendly than standard evaporations systems which leave you with a lot of nasties to get rid of. I’ll try and find the documents, they were interesting.
