My wife is finding work from home in self isolation via computer and email to be an interesting exercise. It seems at the large company where she works, there are a lot of managers who employ the term ‘pushback’ which means they spend all day delegating everything to everyone else and end up knowing little about anything in detail themselves. This is fine until the persons to whom they have been delegating leave or get laid off and disappear. As my wife has worked there for a long time she is the go-to person for all sorts of things which now includes many queries from these so-called ‘pushback’ managers. She has decided to tell them all the story about the cannibals. Goes like this …

There was a business that was run by cannibals, however complaints kept coming in that people were going missing because the cannibals were eating them and it was affecting the business. Eventually the head cannibal called all the cannibals in and declared a new strategy. I know and understand, he said, that you are all cannibals and that you can’t help yourselves but there have been too many complaints about people going missing and it’s affecting the business. We have to change our ways so from now on, he said, you should only eat middle managers because no one notices when they are gone.

    From Percy in another thread.

It is with great sadness that I have to mention the loss of a few further local businesses around town.
Our bra manufacturer has gone bust.
The specialist in submersibles has gone under.
A dog kennel has had to call in the retrievers.
The suppliers of paper for origami enthusiasts has folded.
The Heinz factory has been canned as they couldn't ketchup with orders.
A tarmac laying company has reached the end of the road.
The manufacturer of food blenders has gone into liquidation.
Your local bread company has run out of dough.
The clock manufacturer has had to wind down.
The shoe shop has had to put his foot down and given his staff the boot.
Your local computer repair shop had virus issues.
    The Undertaker lost the plot.
The tyre shop business went flat.
The fencing contractor got posted out of town.
    AND,
The launderette has been taken to the cleaners!
Its enough to make you wonder if the local SPCA hasn't gone to the dog's
No butts, hold no mutts, (unless they're the furry variety).
