    "American professor's view"

Not buying it. Putin wanted this all along and NATO expansion is just the pretext he needed.

This Prof needs to give his PHD back...

On the economic side its true they arnt buying Russian OIL like they used to and inflation is now being fuelled with more fire.

Well done on calling the invasion a LONG TIME before it happened.
Some people probably don't know the Russian stock market is currently suspended but that Russian ETF's have been trading in the US, (most have also been suspended towards the end of this week) but before they were most were down 70- 80% from the start of this year

I remember one poster on here a while back bragging about the deep value in Russian banks and that he or she was going to back the truck up, forgotten who it was...might have been in the Heartland thread and was met with almost universal cautionary notes from the old hands on here. I hope that poster listened !

Threatening a nuclear war on those who believe in human rights and some dignity is par for the course for peacekeepers.

Ashley Gardyne chief investment officer at Fisher funds tells investors to stay the course. Average decline due to these shock events going back through history has been 5.7%
Thing is though, he said the same thing a couple of months ago and since then Marlin and Barramundi have lost far more than 5.7%.
Marlin down from an NTA of $1.25 at the start of this year to $1.07 down ~ 14% year to date and Barramundi, ~12%.

Of course what he does not say is that they make fees from funds under management and regardless of whether you win or lose they still win.

Maybe when he says the same thing in another 2 months after further big losses if will be third time lucky ?

On the other hand maybe this war ends early and he's right with this current call but the rhetoric coming out of Putin really doesn't give me much cause for hope there's good news coming anytime soon.

India must be thinking is our russian equipment serviceable?

The best part of the article is the comment by the Ukraine defence minister.

Thinking of India, what do you reckon that Indian C17 is doing on the tarmac in eastern Poland? Dropping off or picking up?
