I'd like missile defence (patriot anti-missile) and drones. The drones will be useful when bushfires from climate change happen in nz.
Actually China's Navy is now larger than the US's in terms of number of ships - will try to find an article again in the morning

Actually - The Chinese navy has more ships than the US navy ... and while they are smaller, they don't need to be that big given that they are much closer to any likely conflict zones (less need to carry fuel, supplies and spares). As well - a rocket launched from a small ship is as dangerous as a rocket launched from a large ship.

You are right - whatever the Russian dictator and crook is doing and however it will end - Russia will pay for this crime for many generations to come. Ukrainians will hate Russians and they will kill them wherever they can because Russia attacked them without any provocation. The Russian crook sent his worst criminals to kill not just Ukrainian soldiers defending their home country against an unprovoked attack, but as well killing innocent Ukrainian civilians.
How could anybody forget and forgive that.

Who needs missile defence systems here, when we already have an abundant supply of resident drones

There are reports Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov will attend the next round of Russia - Ukraine negotiations.
Even if he does a Baghdad Bob act denouncing Ukrainian Nazis and blaming the "West" his attendance is a sign the Kremlin is beginning to recognize the pickle they are in.

If what they are asking is all they want it does not seem that impossible. Crimea was Russian anyway and the two separatist states? And a commitment to neutrality? That's a short list really.

Crimea was Ottoman, autonomous, part of the Russian Empire, then Soviet, then Ukrainian.
New England was British. Should Biden give it up to Johnson?

That's apples and oranges really. The Soviets gifted Crimea to Ukraine probably in a vodka induced state of generosity and have lived to regret it. I can't remember which leader but a lot of Soviet leaders were Ukrainian.
