Even former defence staff in government departments still dont see NZ as having any one to actually fight.

It appears the defence of NZ freedom to exist and trade is based on nothing but hope.

The labour government is backed by south pacific NZ residents and iwi none of who want to increase defence spending.

Increasing defence is more about showing that NZ will share in the costs of a democratic free west than actually fighting.

Share the cost is what it means and previous governments in NZ and even defence staff havnt seen NZ as being part of the solution for a very long time.

NZ has had a free ride and at least the PM understands that free ride is really over and is just wondering how long she can fly the flag without actually buying any new flag pole holders.

NZ got caught napping and everyone in AUS, LONDON and WASHINGTON knows it..

NZ doesnt have any money anyway... you would need to pull the plug on many government departments to afford planes, ships and tanks...

Funny then how moral authority APPEARS to diminish the closer you get to centres of power that have hard military authority.
The truth seems to be that Moral Authority needs to be backed by Hard Power to be credible in our dangerous new world...

Iceland well might be next - but I reccon that this belongs into Putins empire. Might fit quite nicely after his troups marched through Sweden and Norway. Didn't some Russian whalers sit there anyway at some stage? Here we have it ... Iceland clearly is part of mother Russia!

The Eastern part of the new axis powers (i.e. China) more likely to focus on the Pacific instead ... they just started with turning the South Chinese sea into a domestic lake, they will take Taiwan and than work themselves along Ossie through to NZ.

Don't forget - NZ has been first occupied by the Maoris, and they came from Taiwan. Clearly - NZ is Chinese homeland and needs to be brought back under Xi's authority.

BP in order for those idiots to invade Iceland they have to find it first. They seem to have a problem with turning on their radar systems. A Navy vessel of their fleet recently ran into a freighter in the baltic..

An analyst said the screens on their radar are barely useable for any length of time before the operator tunes out.

Basically he said the designs are old and out of date....
