Australia needs to work harder to keep Indonesia in the loop...
Indonesia’s nuclear subs protest shows Australian relations will be no easy ride

"Patton said Indonesia’s apprehension underscored the need for Australia to make a much greater effort in providing strategic reassurance to Indonesia as well as messages of deterrence to China. Australia needs to also do a better job of having meaningful consultation with Indonesia “not just on AUKUS, but on a whole range of deterrent capabilities that the ADF [Australian Defence Force] is going to be investing in,” she said."

NZ needs a bit more motivational fear also...
Eagle eyes are on Taiwan, but is China distracting us from a ‘second Pearl Harbour’?

"After reading Molan’s scenario, Colby’s verdict: “It is very credible. Molan clearly knows what he is talking about. I would say, if anything, he may well underestimate the scope and scale of a Chinese attack. It is possible they would go for a narrower strike, but it is also possible they would go even bigger than he lays out.”"

are we saying here that China today wants to stop its new economic foundations even if they are now really rocky.
China is now facing huge problems inside China and the CPP must be MAD to consider War is a good option.
But hey Russia was stupid enough to consider it but we can be sure the Kremlin was not all in on the decision.
Death of Stalin and really Russia will be an internal mess in no time and we havnt even started to see this play out.
A good russian movie black and white 2020 to watch is "Dear Comrade"...

Article bears repeating. Foreign Minister Mahuta missing in action once again...
Anna Fifield: We must stand up for our values, we must stand up for Taiwan
https://www.stuff.co.nz/opinion/1294...-up-for-taiwan
"But we should have no qualms about where our values lie. In the last two weeks alone, European, Japanese and Australian delegations have visited Taiwan. Pelosi is there now, and a British parliamentary mission is planned.
Where are we? Ardern has sidestepped questions about Taiwan. Our foreign minister – nominally at least – Nanaia Mahuta hasn’t uttered a peep since the tensions brought about by the Pelosi visit.
We do not exist in the world only as a trading nation. Our outsized standing on the global stage is connected to our steadfast commitment to multilateralism and human rights and democracy. We must stand up, loud and clear, for that."

In wellington the MODUS is dont say anything. Our major institutions management responsible for film maybe behind the scene planning a TV series on China as a private production.
They did not even know about the work done reported on CNBC by groups on Game theory regarding China and US relations.
Was thanked for pointing it out to there so called research team of ...... ONE person who was also planning the TV series.
Wellington knows everything....it knows best.

Actually - nothing more effective to have a people rallying around their leader than a perceived external enemy and a little war.
There are plenty of Russians who know that the war against Ukraine is a crime, but they are told that you don't turn against your country in a time of conflict (even if you country caused this conflict).
Just remember - Xi wants to get a third term ... a bit of war might make it easier for him to get reelected. Never mind the victims.
