Hmm ... pretty bleak article. Not quite what I hear from my other German sources, maybe they need to read the English version of the Spiegel to find out how bad things are for them ; Sure - the winter may or may not be somewhat difficult, but so far it clearly doesn't look like the end of the world.

And yes, the Germans I hear from still buy toilet paper and go on holidays ;

Seems to be long overdue to kick Turkey out of NATO, can't be trusted playing both sides now he wants to join SCO, and using Russia for weaponry & building nuclear power stations.

Afterwards, he's off to the US for talks - maybe they'll straighten him out - or maybe he'll argue that keeping better in touch with his geographically close neighbours is good for the NATO alliance also ? Where do his sympathies really lie ?
