The other side wanted to get rid of MMP (and the flag) and the people said no..

It's known that Winnie gets the most bang for buck in terms of donations.
400k for 8MPs to decide the next NZ government.
vs 1million for a one man band in 2017 and 800k on greens for a permanent opposition party.

Named after a Dutch province, ridiculous! So dumb and incongruous, embarrassing even, what an insult to all kiwis(no disrespect to the Dutch).
Aotearoa (land of the long white cloud)is so apt and correct. Tim Finn's great song"Aotearoa, rugged individual, glisten like a pearl,at the bottom of the world....) Says it all.

It was never called aoetearoa. Just as they had no name for themselves taken as a group until after the Europeans arrived, when tangata maori or ordinary people began to be used, since shortened to maori, there was no name for the islands as a whole. Certainly no politically united country by any name whatsoever.

Exactly. They took it to a referendum. Very different to what you're suggesting

It's not such a fundamental change that it requires a referendum.
5% should mean 5%.

So, though I agree with a lot of the points he has raised, I would like to see him acknowledge his part in this before any talk of a ‘come back’.
But of course, Winnie is far too slimy for that.
National still a joke. Seymour seems to be the Leader of the Opposition.
Not just government departments being ‘woke’, a lot of business jumping on the bandwagon too so that they can’t be accused of being bigoted.
For example, during homosexual week the banks fall all over each other to see who can make the most poofy looking ATM. Doesn’t actually achieve anything for the homosexual community, but makes the banks look like they really care!
I could go on.
God help us all.
oh damn it, i have missed homosexual week again.
what a bummer

As one myself maybe I should put it on the CV to climb through the ranks more rapidly?
Surely asking about sex orientation is discriminatory.

Read the Treaty of Waitangi, Maori version, and see what the actual Maori name for New Zealand is. It is NOT Aotearoa, but Nu Tirani. Aotearoa only applied to part of the North Island, and not the whole country.
