Far more liberal than us! They spend a whole month being proud of their homosexuals before it is back to BAU!
Slimy Winston has been ducking and diving as predicted. The question was asked about whether he regrets going with Labour in 2017 (and therefore starting this whole mess).
Well, low and behold! He didn't go with Labour as an FU to National over his pension overpayment after all! No indeed! It seems that Winnie already knew that National was a party of sex addicts! He never alerted anyone to the sin and debauchery at the time of course! But he damn well knew want a bunch of sickos they were, and THAT is why he went with Labour. No choice at all really, completely out of his hands!
Silly me! Here I was thinking he was at least partially to blame for our current mess! Thanks for straightening out my thinking Winnie!

Selling off our assets and farmland to overseas investors was too much for winnie.
Look at Germany and Israel for how MMP should work.
Too much entitlement culture within National, no one is "entitled" to govern.
Which is partly why national could drop out of contention while NZ first and act work to earn votes.

Let's not forget it was national who put up this woke form of legislation.

I'm not on the woke side but ... Hawaii is only the name of one island of the archipelago but the whole state takes that name.
Michael King's history is very interesting on these and related matters. Eg The United Tribes and their flag of 1834 was entirely organized by the British resident Busby who wanted a flag selected so NZ ships could be flagged. Out of politeness the assembled chiefs initially voted for all the flags until a missionary intervened.
Also, the stories of Maori pupils being punished for speaking Maori come from the schools set up especially for Maori under the 1867 act - where at the request of the parents instruction was in English.

Wouldn't that be because many parents wanted their children to avoid the discrimination from English speaking colonisers/Employers/government? It would not be because of intrinsic preference for or love of the English language.

Of course it wasn't. They were simply being pragmatic.

Of course it was pragmatic action. Punishing the children for speaking Maori would have meant they may have been more likely to keep a full belly in the NZ of that era - a step in trying to avoid the discrimination they would have faced for speaking Maori in their own land.

Maori is a dead language with zero relevance in the modern world. End of story.

It may be a dead language with little or no relevance in the modern world, but it certainly isn't the end of the story. Dixi (Latin)

I'm not sure how you conclude protecting them from discrimination, which is perfectly sensible parenting, was punishment.
