What a bunch of grumps. Presumably none of you work in marketing and have a clue how the mass of people receive ads or react to them.
@NZTX; is there something unusual about the length of service of the existing Board members at Bremworth? Of the five, the chair has been there 6 years, 2 others 9 years, one for four years and the most recent for two years. Does that constitute 'squatting'?
Up 16.9% in just over a month - the marketing must be working
Think good old Tony was sitting longer than that back yonks, but boy - the team really had the old (then) CAV flying
strongly under their reign spitting out regular dividends
Given the state that Resene paints is in, with a desparate need for cash and BRW having pockets full of cash, its almost criminal if no one pitched the idea for these two iconic NZ companies to merge together. Would create some efficiencies in logistics and savings to use Resene stores to sell both carpet and paint. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/...KOD2AYRA7HR4A/

Always a possibility ….you never know.
Apparently Nightingale told Fletchers to fxxk off when they offered him $200m for the business about 20 years ago
Family business don’t always end up as a family business eh.
Resene group sales probably over $150m (maybe even close to $200m) v Bremworth $80m.
Resene strength is specifier/commercial market which Bremworth have said isn’t really their space. Resene also deep into residential builds with their Rockcote division
But paint and carpets co-exist from a decorating perspective so you never know what might happen
At least Resene still NZ owned ….Dulux owned by Nippon, Wattyl by the Danes and PPG by Yanks .

”When investors are euphoric, they are incapable of recognising euphoria itself “
Greg Smith bemoaning that Kainga Ora sticking with nylon carpets in their builds.
They say 34% saving v nylon
So no extra zillions for Bremworth
As a tax payer I think a good move
I can only speak with what I've seen locally with the Kainga Ora houses on my street. A family moves in. Place gets....I want to say trashed.... but I will say well used. Family moves out. Tradies come in and replace everything including carpets. Then, Repeat. Probably is an argument for a cheaper to replace, easier to clean, more stain resistant carpet in these situations. Nylon does seem to beat wool there.
