    Default Allbirds IPO

    Hi everyone,

Allbirds (a New Zealand footwear company) is going to have an IPO.

Here is the prospectus, for those interested. So far I know the IPO is being offered through Hatch Invest.

    Has anyone considered getting involved?

Not for me, I generally stay away from IPOs and this didn't blow my socks off (dumb I know but it's early in the morning)

Whilst it's great they push their green initiative, there's plenty of evidence that you can be unethical in this industry and still grow/drive popularity with the youths.

An interesting article this morning from Brian Gaynor - paywalled on Business Desk. I won't be investing - not enough disclosure, particularly on use of IPO proceeds ( benefit of company v payment to promotors/owners.)

I love my allbirds, but despite being cofounded by Tim Brown and using NZ sourced wool for some products it’s important to note that it is not at all a New Zealand company. it’s a US comaony and it’s products are manufactured in South Korea & Italy.

Are hatch actually letting you participate the IPO or are they letting you add the company to a watch list so you can buy it once listed?

This is from their website: "We’re making it easy to become a shareholder as soon as a company lists on the US share markets. When a company is going public, just add it to your watchlist to get IPO updates and be notified when you can buy shares. Are you IPO prepared?"
