I must be missing something. The price of gold is going up (not quite at record prices when inflation is taken into account however) but still its increasing.
Why hasnt this increase been reflected in SMI s share price,

Also HUGE capital raise coming up in the next year or two. Not that that is a bad thing per-se, but investors might be waiting things out.

SMI has to be valued atm ( in ground gold something like $70/oz ) with so many unknowns !

I posted a while ago when the market cap got to over $500M it was looking over priced considering it's not in production and as others have mentioned there will be a reasonably large equity raise. It's looking more attractive now though.
Also as posted prior, knowing Peter Cook & how he operates, it's likely to be a mixture of debt & equity which will be good in regards less dilution. It will probably also mean a hedge is put in place to protect the debt. Not a bad level to lock some price certainty in place.

IMHO SMI Gold resource will continue to grow, as will the LOM .. as soon as we see SMI secure all the rights to mine then I'll be buying my only major concern esp if the LAB/greens get into power they will do their best to destroy mining or any primary industries in NZ .. if the project was in say WA Aus ..then no concerns

Not so sure SMI would be impacted with a change of Government. It's not like it's on DOC conservation land or in a particularly environmentally sensitive area.
Ocean's mining has far bigger environmental impact and it continued to operate under Labour.
Hopefully you find my posts helpful, but in no way should they be construed as advice. Make your own decision.

It depends on how much weight the Greens and racist party get and who is leading the Labour left .. I've spoken with Mgmt of companies like CUE , ECH that have interests in NZ ,and they aren't looking to invest further here even with the present Govt as they know it could all change in a few years when the closet commie nutters get back into power, sadly as many NZD'er are brainwashed care mostly about handouts and TAXING the country to fantasy wealth building.
