There's no need to scroll through the threads to find new posts, just click on the 'New Posts' button. Voila, a list of newest to oldest unread posts appears. Brilliant.
Who's Posted in a Thread and View only Their Posts
This is one of my favourites, hiding in plain sight you can view all of any users posts on any thread in a list without anyone else's posts. This is great if you follow a certain poster and are interested only in what they are saying without the noise of other replies.
1.Go to a thread and hover your mouse over the number under 'replies' - you'll see how many replies you've made to that thread. Screenshot 2022-07-19 155411.jpg
2. Then, click on that number of replies, it brings up a list of all posters on the thread with the highest number of posts at the top. (see whose got the most to say, lol). Screenshot 2022-07-19 155456.jpg
3. Then for the posters you're interested in, go the right and click on the 'number' of their posts. Voila, a list of everything they've posted on the thread, and no one else. Screenshot 2022-07-19 155629.jpg
Go to the Last post, or go to the First Unread post, on a thread
There's no need to just click on a thread, when you can go to the Last post on the thread, or even better still go to the First Unread (new) post on the thread. I use the first unread every time I visit a thread, it's like picking up from where you left off last time.
There's a heap of useful stuff in your Settings, everything from auto-subscribe to a thread, email notifications, hide while online, show or not your reputation, and many others.
It's simple, just click on 'Settings' at the top of the page, then 'General Settings' and run through them making your preferred selections. Screen Shot 2022-07-19 at 6.46.06 PM.jpg
This is a good one if you've read everything you want to but there's a heap of posts you haven't read which will keep coming up in your list of 'Unread posts' (see previous view unread posts).
Simple, it's right there on the menu bar, when you've read everything you want to, click 'Forum Actions' and select 'Mark Forums Read'. Bingo, all unread posts are marked as read and won't show up in your unread posts list next time.
Have you ever bothered to read the Terms and Conditions of posting on Sharetrader? Sometimes things get ugly around here, people say things they might not have if they knew what's permitted or not and what legal protections the publisher has to protect members and themselves.
But the cool thing is clicking on the column headings to sort up or down the lists. i.e. who's got the most posts, click on the 'posts' column. Who's got the reputation, click on the reputation column, etc. Screen Shot 2022-07-19 at 7.00.39 PM.jpg
