Kiwisaver in Retirement
Has anyone elected to maintain a Kiwisaver account in retirement? If so has it been a useful way to access regular income as a supplement to National Super?

Lots of people do . Trend is for a lot to leave it in until 70+. Thus is twofold , some working till 70. Others use savings they have and let the KiwiSaver grow .
If you think you are going to live to 90 , some leave a good % in a growth fund . The balance might be in a defensive fund and if they need some extra money to top up the pension they set up a monthly withdrawal from that one . Or do a yearly withdrawal and use that across the year .

As a result of the regulation and disclosure requirements with respect to the KiwiSaver scheme, I intend to increase my contributions in the years as I approach 65y. Maturing bonds and maybe other funds will be added. In retirement, withdrawals will then be made as needed to supplement other pension and investment income.

One factor to consider may be the fees for Kiwisaver vs "vanilla" funds.
