    Found the part about sitting out the first two years of a presidential cycle interesting - S&P returns for the first two years on the average about zilch

    Good jobs data, reports that savings were going up, personal borrowings slowing ... all the things that Belg says need to happens ... you would expect to see the market react positively

    But (quote reuters) .. The S&P500, the US index most world fund managers follow, finished the week 2.1 per cent lower to complete its worst start to a year since 1991

    And they say that the 2 years after an election are generally pretty bad anyway and the action happens in years 3 and 4

    But then probably be OK when the inauguration parties start soon
