    Default US Reits

    Thinking of buying some USD's when the Kiwi gets above 75c ... probably on a 3 to 5 year view, would buy some low risk US utilities and REITs with the funds. Anyone hold any listed US property stocks ?? , any recommendations ??, I have shares in Macquarie ProLogis so the US partner, ProLogis would be an obvious place to start. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

    There are still some good yielding REIT's but they are not as attractive as they were what with US interest rates on the rise. Some of the ones I would recommend are Impac Mortgage-IMH, Bimini Mortgage-BMM and MFA mortgage-MFA. One that is high yielding but has got a lot of bad press lately is Novastar-NFI. Incidently I own stock in all the companies I mentioned.
