My 2 cents is that to understand this company in terms of its valuation one needs to look at FY19 forecast figures. Synlait have only just doubled canning and drying capacity so there is a chance in the short term there might be enough supply to meet rampant demand before Synlait have to ramp up production again in due course.
IIRC correctly Sylait are controlled by Chinese interests. Those Chinese interests were primarily interested in securing supply for their own brands in China. ATM is merely a profitable customer, which does not have dibs on any new production capacity at Synlait.
It won 't surprise me in the years ahead if demand growth continues to make it near impossible to keep a reliable supply.
Nah can't happen. ATMs Share price performance shows that the laws of breeding biology have probably changed and as many A2 cows as needed can now be 3D printed.
I can see the possibility of a 1:1 scrip based takeover of Synlait coming at some stage so ATM can control the supply chain in the manner it needs too.
Sounds very unlikely to me. When the Chinese buy in, they buy in for the long term. They went to a lot of effort to make sure they control Synlait, even though they hold less than 50% of the shares last time I heard. I would say it is very unlikely the Chinese are willing to give up control of Synlait via a scrip takeover.
